17th Annual Senior Citizens' Picnic a Success

It was another year of success at Summit Township’s 17th Annual Senior Citizens’s Picnic.  With a donation and a few door prizes, Bianchi Honda was able to have a small hand in that success.

This year’s theme for the picnic was “It’s a Hoedown!”.  There were plenty of activities for everyone to participate in.  Included at the picnic was a chicken barbeque lunch, musical entertainment, a horse drawn trolley, a live birds of prey educational program by Tamarack Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, bingo, build your own sundaes and craft sessions.

Attending this year’s picnic were 290 Senior Citizens, with 110 of them receiving gifts from bingo or the grand finale door prize give-away.

Nancy Agostine, who helped participate in the planning of this year’s picnic, had one goal for Summit’s picnic: “To honor our oldest residents and to provide a venue for social interaction at which old friendships can be renewed and new ones formed.”

It was a pleasure being able to help sponsor such a great event.   The entire staff was excited to hear about the picnic’s success!
