Scott Roudybush - Employee Spotlight for March

Q. You’ve been working at Bianchi for almost 10 years, what’s your favorite thing about working here?

A. There are a number of things - First and foremost is waiting on the customers. I like meeting new people and talking with the “regular” customers I’ve known for years. There is always something new and exciting going on everyday, and I’m never bored.

Q. What do your daily responsibilities consist of?

A. My responsibilities consist of greeting people as they come into the Service Drive. I talk with them and find out their needs and concerns with their car and then help dispatch the work to the technicians in the shop.

Q. What is something people would be surprised to find out about you?

A. That could be a loaded question! I guess someday I really want to move to Alaska. It seems to be a place that I would love to live.

Q. What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

A. Most of all - spending time with my soon-to-be wife, Julie. Other than that, I like hanging out with friends and family, relaxing, riding ATV’s and watching racing - “The Simple Life”.

Are You Prepared for a Flat Tire

Step 1: Pull off the road on a completely flat area and place the car in park. Turn off your engine and switch on your hazard lights to warn other drivers of your situation.

Step 2: Place a large rock or a sturdy, heavy object behind the tires if you’re facing slightly uphill or in front of the tires if you’re facing slightly downhill. Next, you will need your spare tire, a car jack, and a tire iron.

Step 3: Remove the hubcap using the wedge on your tire iron. Loosen the lug nuts by turning the tire iron counterclockwise. Don’t remove the lug nuts yet! Simply loosen them in a star-patterned order - Loosen one and then move diagonally to the next one and so on.

Step 4: Jack up the car. Many cars have a particular spot on the frame for placing the jack. You may need to consult your owner’s manual to find this spot. The new, fully inflated tire will be slightly bigger than the flat one, so jack up the car high enough to take this into account.

Step 5: Completely remove the lug nuts and place them aside being sure not to lose them. If you have a hubcap, place them inside the upside-down hubcap.

Step 6: Carefully remove the flat tire. Place the new tire onto the wheel with the air valves facing out.

Step 7: Replace the lug nuts in the same “star” pattern that you used to loosen them. Do not tighten them completely.

Step 8: Lower and remove the jack from the car, then finish tightening the lug nuts.

Step 9: Replace the hubcap, if necessary. That’s it! You just learned how to change a tire! From driversedguru.com

Safety Comes First

On February 13th, 2012, Rick Scott, CIC, Account Executive for the PMA Insurance Group presented Bianchi Honda’s Safety Committee with their 3 Years Without a Lost Time Accident Award. Rick and the PMA Insurance Group became Bianchi Honda’s workers compensation insurance provider just three years ago, and advised that it is our Safety Committee’s commitment to promote safety and health in the dealership that has contributed immensely to the achievement of this award.

Bianchi Honda appreciates the guidance and annual training provided by Rick and the PMA Insurance Group for our Safety Committee members.

Ally Needs Your Help

Dog in Need - Erie PAFour million cats and dogs—about one every eight seconds—are put down in U.S. shelters each year. Often these animals are the offspring of cherished family pets. Spay/neuter is a proven way to reduce pet overpopulation, ensuring that every pet has a family to love them.  Many cats and dogs who die as a result of pet overpopulation could have made wonderful pets.

A solution is possible and starts with each of us taking one small step: getting our own pets spayed or neutered. To help stop pet overpopulation further, consider adopting your next pet from an animal shelter.

Bianchi Honda cares about animals, and proudly supports the efforts of the local animal shelters including the A.N.N.A. Shelter and the Humane Society.  As animal lovers, we like to do our part by featuring a "Pet In Need" each month in our newsletter.

This month's PET IN NEED (Pictured at right):

BREED: Hound/Shepherd Mix

LOCATION: The A.N.N.A. Shelter in Erie PA

NAME: Ally

AGE/GENDER: Young Female

NOTES:
Hi, I’m Ally! I am an adorable young spayed female Hound/Shepherd mix. I am a playful and active young dog. I love people and I just can’t get enough attention! I also get along well with cats and I love to play with other dogs.

I am a very social girl that would fit well into most active homes! I’m not sure how I ended up homeless… I guess I just got lost and couldn’t find my way home.

Like most of the dogs here, my owner didn’t come looking for me. But I try not to think about that too much. I’m just excited to find a new, better home!

Leaping into the New Year...

You may have noticed a small feature in the Erie Times-News in February called "Bianchi a Honda Sales Leader". We are proud to be recognized for selling more new Hondas in January and February than any other dealer in the entire state of PA. This was no small feat for a dealership located in Erie - to outsell dealerships in major areas like Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. This growth is excellent news for the city of Erie and and our goal is to become the number one Honda dealer in the entire state for 2012. We are extremely thankful for all of our loyal customers that believe in Honda and continue to allow us earn their business.
